Record breaking charity golf day
Last Friday, a record breaking £155,000 was raised at the 24th Annual Charity Golf Day hosted by Weston Homes, in aid of St Clare Hospice.
Taking place at Stoke by Nayland Golf and Spa in Colchester, a total of 60 teams took part in an all day event and an evening of entertainment from celebrity, Shaun Williamson.
To raise extra funds, a glittering auction took place with an array of 'once in a lifetime' experiences and prizes; with the top bid of £20,000 for a parachute jump with the RAF which will be undertaken by the ladies of Weston Homes that helped organise the charity golf day.
All money raised will go towards St Clare Hospice, a charity that provides free, compassionate care and support to families across Essex.
Alloy Fabweld donated a technology auction prize and on the night bid/won Cricket at the Oval and a donation to the RAF parachute jump.
Well done to Weston Homes for another brilliant successful golf day and for smashing last years' total of £110,000.
