AFW & The London Football Awards 2019
On 28th February, our MD Shaun attended the glittering London Football Awards 2019 held at Battersea Evolution. A night with eight awards being presented across 13 football clubs.
A thoroughly enjoyable night which also included a live auction. Always one to join in the fun for good causes, Shaun bid on various lots, including a signed Rob Holding shirt who plays centre back for Premier League club Arsenal - a fantastic prize for any avid Arsenal fan!
The evening raised lots of money for the Willow Foundation - a charity that helps bring special days to seriously ill young adults in the UK. The funds raised from the London Football Awards will benefit Willow, the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfill uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. These Special Days enable them and their families to reconnect and refocus on each other while enjoying an activity of their choosing. A day for them, a day about them and a day that will create memories they will all treasure forever.
Since 1999 the charity has fulfilled more than 13,000 Special Days for young adults living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy.
The Willow Foundation is a national charity established in 1999 by Arsenal footballer and BBC sports commentator, Bob Wilson and his wife Megs as a lasting memorial to their daughter Anna, who died of cancer aged just 31.
