The awesome GD Soapbox race!

Now the second largest soapbox race in the country, Great Dunmow got prepared for the cars and the crowds on Sunday 26th May 2019.

Doors opened at 11am and the field was set with the cars on view before the wacky races began. The teams faced jumps, the slippery, blizzard ally, and raced against the clock to be crowned the winners!

Alloy Fabweld, Flexi Group and Rebel Strength all pitched in entering group vehicles alongside the other 50+ teams. 'Alloy Racers' were so pleased to come 5th overall with a very respectable fastest time of 25.5 seconds - well done to our drivers, an excellent effort! Thanks too to Livin' Art for designing and creating the wonderful winners trophy.

An amazing £40,000 was raised from the event and this will be generously split between Great Dunmow Round Table, Mind of West Essex, & St Clare Hospice.
