Update on our staff volunteering day
Three of our employees travelled to Sussex to spend the day volunteering in the gardens of the wonderful children's hospice, Chestnut Tree House.
The guys had a humbling and busy day helping clear the gardens, maintain the plants and make it beautiful for the patients and their families to enjoy for the summer.
On asking why our staff wanted to take a day out of work and help with this fantastic challenge, Paul said "We had a very rewarding and satisfying day volunteering, to give something back, albeit time and hard graft, within a beautiful location, run by truly wonderful and happy staff. Was it a good experience?...without a doubt! To spend the day giving, with other people we’ve never met, all with the same goal in mind.
I would definitely recommend volunteering, to everyone. You are giving up your time, in which, yes, you could be doing something else, but you would never have the same satisfaction"
This day was part of Volunteers Week in which individuals or teams give up their day to go and volunteer. Find out more about how you can help in the future, here:- https://volunteersweek.org
