Alloy Fabweld and its brands are highly committed to helping young students realise their skills, particularly with the UK’s Engineering skills shortage. We happily support and work alongside the local Youth Connexions teams to get as many students enthusiastic about steel as possible. When students see the results of their own work it gives them increased confidence, motivates them and sees them proud of their own achievements.
Welcoming students from our local schools to take part in the work experience scheme, in 2016 alone we invited a total of 6 young people. During their time with us, they are shown how the business operates, to work with other key members of staff and even get them involved in creating their own metal masterpieces!
I learned a lot about the business in just one week.
I enjoyed working with the other staff, the workshop was friendly and busy.
